InScribe 2004 (page 3)
Compatibility
InScribe 2004 can import and export hieroglyphic texts in the Manuel de Codage MdC format. MdC was introduced in 1988 and remains the most common format for exchanging Ancient Egyptian texts. MDF-coded text can also be copied and pasted between InScribe and other applications. Also, as well as reading .ins files from the earlier version of InScribe, 2004 can also import WinGlyph 1.x .gly files and GlyphScribe .gls files.
InScribe '.InScribe' documents and other documents containing embedded InScribe hieroglyphs can be used in Adobe PDF files and other document formats (such as traditional and XML based documents from Microsoft) that provide embedded font support (the InScribe fonts are licensed for embedding). This capability lets you distribute documents using InScribe hieroglyphs to readers who do not own a copy of InScribe.
More information...
We are working on a range of updates to our web sites. These include more information here on www.saqqara.org aimed at potential users of InScribe and our other products. However you will still find some further information on 2004 at our GameSet.com (www.gameset.com) web site and standards-related information at www.egpz.com. We plan to change GameSet to focus on InScribe 2004 and 2008 user-oriented topics and resources.
