  • Screen-shots of InScribe 2008 online [January 10th, 2008]
    See InScribe 2008 preview for screen-shots that illustrate elements of InScribe 2008.
  • EGPZ 1.0 released [November 22nd, 2007]
    Version 1.0 of EGPZ, the unofficial standard for hieroglyphs in Unicode, is now available (see www.egpz.com). Also announced is the EGPZ Word List Project which aims to make available a large list of Ancient Egyptian words in Unicode and Manuel de Codage (MdC) formats.
  • InScribe 2008 fonts released [November 21st, 2007]
    The first hieroglyphic fonts for Unicode are released today by Saqqara. Implementation uses EGPZ 1.0 (see www.egpz.com). The new fonts enable ways of working with hieroglyphs as text, enabling a range of new applications. Transliteration features of the upcoming Unicode 5.1 are also supported. Plus experimental versions of fonts conforming with the current state of the proposed inclusion of Egyptian Hieroglyphs in Unicode 5.2.  Available now through the InScribe 2008 beta program.
  • www.egpz.com live [June 7th, 2007]
    Web site www.egpz.com is now available. This site contains information on open standards and technical issues relating to Ancient Egyptian and hieroglyphs.
  • InScribeX announced [May 24th, 2007]
    Announcing InScribeX - a new cross-platform version of InScribe under development for Linux, MacOS X and Windows. We are aiming for an InScribeX for MacOS beta program as soon as possible following release of the next version of InScribe for Windows.
  • New version of InScribe announced [March 14th, 2007]
    Saqqara is pleased to announce a new version of InScribe is under development. [The InScribe 2008 beta program is now open to subscription].
  • Saqqara.org goes live [June 19th, 2006]
    Saqqara.org is the new company web site for Saqqara Technology Ltd. Some information on InScribe 2004 and other Egyptian material remains on www.gameset.com.
